Welcome to Rotary!
The Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland began as a small group of businessmen and women meeting early in the morning at the Drawbridge Inn. The year was 1990 and the Club was the brainchild of the late Graydon Baines, a former District Governor and past president of the Sarnia Rotary Club.
The Club met quietly in the Richmond Room as it gained members and momentum. By December of that year it had the required 24 members and in mid-March of 1991 was officially chartered as Sarnia's second Rotary Club.
Alan Calvert, manager of the Drawbridge was the Club's first president.
Today, the Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland has 27 members and meets at the Best Western Guildwood Inn. The current president is Chris Cooke, a printer/publisher.
