Projects: International Flag Plaza

The Flag Project at the foot of the Blue Water Bridge began following the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York in September 2001. The Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland matched a similar project in Port Huron. The $100,000.00 Sarnia project includes twin 80 foot flag poles, 20 X 40 foot Canadian and American flags and a large flag plaza with sitting area.

The project is a tribute to emergency responders and those who were injured or died in the World Trade Center attacks.

Seed money for the project was provided from local donations and a loan from the City of Sarnia. The remainder was raised through the sale of bricks and pavers in the plaza. Bricks are available for $75.00 and pavers for $350.00. An order form is included in this web site.
